About Expert Coating Co., Inc.
Expert Coating Co., Inc. is a privately held family corporation established in 1951 on the west side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. At that time there were scores of plating companies in Michigan, many catering to the great automobile industry. With the invention of plastics, paints and the push for cleaned air and waterways many of the smaller companies could not compete. The larger platers have diversified to domestic and commercial products and still service the auto industry. We continue to proudly serve the remaining plating industry.
Henry Klimek purchased the company in 1971 from Lyman Sperry. His sons, Erik, Walter and Menno soon followed his foot steps and in 1992 purchased the company. Later on our sister Patty joined the company.
In 1974 Expert Coating moved from the west side to it’s present location on the north side of Grand Rapids. Our sons are now part of the company’s family and will continue with a third generation of excellent and dedicated service.
Our mission statement - To achieve outstanding customer satisfaction by providing rack design, fabrication and repair services to platers, painters and powder coaters for a variety of end-use markets.
We will work as a team to create a dynamic and exciting work place that will result in a financially strong and reputable company.
